DTI combines the best educational methods--experiential as well as curriculum-driven--to support the life-long learning of practitioners; constantly refining our best methods of training, and reaching out for the latest and most advanced thinking on community building and social change. All of DTI's programs listed below employ what many of our past workshop participants call "the DTI Method."

DTI nurtures the growth of transformative leaders who stay in the work of transforming communities for the long haul. We conduct leadership development “in context,” where the unique challenges of the communities and the organizations served provide opportunities to apply the lessons learned. Leaders must be identified, trained and given the chance to learn from the experience of leading. In doing so they obtain essential skills such as the ability to articulate a compelling vision, think and plan strategically, manage people and organizations through significant change, and form productive partnerships with individuals from various sectors and cultures. DTI’s integrated method has the added benefit of enabling leaders to achieve both immediate and long term results as they learn. Focusing on the growth of the whole person in the culture and the environment where they serve makes all the difference.
